The 70th anniversary of World Human Rights Day comes while the crimes of the Saudi-led coalition aggression on Yemen kill millions of Yemeni people, making the major international organizations describe the situation in Yemen the worst in the world.
This event comes amid a fierce campaign targeting Yemeni media and media organizations, in addition to the Al-Masirah channels target within one month, the Saudi coalition targeted Al-Hodeidah radio station and killed four employees in a war crime that was preceded by dozens of violations against the media members and sector in four years of war, siege and media embargo.
The Yemeni Media Union (YMU) renews the condemnation of all violations of the aggression coalition against the media and freedom of opinion and expression. YMU calls the international community and human rights organizations for greater solidarity and an end to the human suffering of millions of Yemenis. It stresses the need for an independent international investigation into the crimes of the Saudi coalition against civilians in general and the right of journalists in particular.
The Yemeni Media Union also urges the parties to participate in the consultations of Sweden to proceed with the confidence-building measures in their humanitarian situation, which will help the immediate release of prisoners and detainees and put an end to the crisis of suspension of salaries of employees throughout Yemen, including journalists, media workers and official media organizations.
The Union commends the role of free media at home and abroad who spare no effort in stripping the Saudi alliance and exposing its crimes and the terrible violations committed against women, children and civilians.
